The team of Mike Jr and Mike Sr appeared on STARCADE! Show #109. They did not win but it was close ... they scored 13,949 points to their opponents 14,987 ... "painful", as Mike Jr says.

Mike Jr. was 12 years old and in the 7th grade in October 1983 when he came to San Francisco for STARCADE! Tryouts. He said, "I like video games more than anything." His favorite games were Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, Mario Brothers, Bagman, Time Pilot and Star Wars. He boasted that he could score 70,000 on Donkey Kong and 100,000 on Star Wars. He had an Atari 2600 and was saving to buy a ColecoVision.

Mike Sr., a former S.F. Giants Catcher, brought his son to auditions and got drafted to play with his son as a Team. He was a player himself ... saying his favorites were "Pengo, Time Pilot, Bump N Jump, and M.A.C.H. 3."

In 2001 Mike Jr.'s checked in: "I still play videogames (I have a Playstation 2!) and I am a Corporate Sales Account Manager for software company. My Dad is retired having spent the last 15 years in the S.F. Giant's front office ... brings back some painful memories (we lost). Actually, it was a great experience...I was lightning quick on the buzzer, but not quick enough in Pac Man Plus or Super Astro Fighter. Dad (Sadek Sr) would've scored better in Star Wars had he known that shooting the red things in the trench were worth points. Hey - Ecks (their opponents), we want a rematch."
