ERIC LaBADIE
Eric was a contestant on two STARCADE! shows - show #45 & the invitational show #48. Show #45 was taped when Eric was 14 years old and in the 8th grade. Eric won his show but not the video arcade game. Even so, we considered him one of our best players and we invited him back for one a STARCADE! Invitational show. He proved he was a great player ... winning the competition against three other great players AND winning the Grand Prize.
In his autobiography, Eric said, "I enjoy karate and I am presently a purple belt (three belts away from a black belt) ... I buy and sell stock and I presently own Coleco stock which has doubled in the last three months ... I hope to be a stock broker when I grow up." Reason he wanted to be on STARCADE!: "The chance to be on TV, play video games competitively, and possibly win a video game would be something I would love to do."
Eric's STARCADE! memory: I clearly remember running home after school with friends to watch STARCADE! My friend Steve Issacs and I used to be glued to the show, so we both applied and got on! (Steve Isaacs has not checked in) Being on the show twice was a great thrill."
