Tommy appeared on Show #116 with his mom, Karen in December of 1983. He was 11 years old and in the 6th grade and came all the way from Sterling Heights, Michigan to the taping in San Francisco. Tommy's hobbies were football, baseball, hockey, video games and swimming. He played hockey for five years and played baseball as first baseman, outfielder and pitcher. Tommy & Karen were great contestants.

Karen got enlisted to team up with her son. Her favorite game was Centipede on which, according to her, she couldn't "get over 30,000 points." Tommy's favorite games were: Dragon's Lair, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, Mario Cement Factory, Congo Bongo, Defender, Galaga, Mario Bros, Pole Position, BurgerTime, Tron, Centipede, Millipede and Time Pilot. Obviously, Tommy loved video games.

Tommy described himself as having an aggressive personality and wanted to be on STARCADE because it was the "opportunity of a lifetime!"

The Graskewicz's Starcade Memories: "We both enjoyed appearing on STARCADE! ... it was an experience that I'm sure will stay with us forever ... Everyone on the show was extremely helpful and encouraging and made our appearance fun rather than nerve racking ... we'd do it all over again in a minute."

Tommy & Karen missed the Grand Prize by just 389 points ... disappointing BUT they took home an RB5X Robot as their overall prize for beating the other team ... one of the few times we gave an RB5X away as an Overall Winner prize. So you could say Tommy & Karen were lucky, after all.
