ROBBIE & SHAWN BEASLEY
Shawn was 11 years old when his show was taped in June of 1983. He played with his father Robbie. In his bio, he said, "I like to play sports and I love to ride my bike. I have a nice bike...I plan my Mondays around STARCADE! so that I can watch the show. I plan to watch it 5 times a week soon...I love to play video games and some of my scores are: Congo Bongo-23,000; Donkey Kong Jr-62,000; BurgerTime-83,500; Star Trek-120,000; Mappy-2,940; Pole Position-41,390 and Joust-45,000. My favorite games are Congo Bongo, Mappy, Wacko, and Star Trek."
Robbie was in the US Air Force, "spending 8 years 9 months as a Photo Interpretations Officer with 4 1/2 years as a Navigator on B-52's with about 120 combat missions in Vietnam. I am now active in the Air Force Reserves, where I serve as an Intelligence Requirements Officer." When he appeared on STARCADE!, he was "employed as a Systems Planning Engineer at Lockheed Missiles and Space Co...and as an independent Sales Representative for EKOS ... selling home computers and software."
Shawn checked in on 9/23/2009 to say, "We moved to Colorado in 1986 to a small town called Elizabeth. Robbie worked at Lockheed/Martin as an engineer till some were around 1998 when they forced him into early retirement. He then went back to school for computer sciences and got some certs such as A+ and MS's networking cert. He started teaching computer networking at Front Range Community College for ten years and loved doing the teaching, but it just didn't pay enough and had to move on. Eventually he was working at Ceturea Health doing desktop support ..."
"I got married on Oct. 4th 1996 in Ishoj Denmark to Kristina who is a Danish woman I met here in the states. I moved to Denmark for a while but didn't like living there so I moved back to the states in 1997 and proceed to get divorced as well. I decided to go back to college in 1999-2001 for computer networking and desktop support and got my NET+ cert but was unable to get a job in the field due to high lay off in Colorado then. I then went back to the auto glass industry as a auto glass technician which I was doing before. I moved out to Las Vegas in 2003 until 2006 were I pursued a career as a poker player. I moved back to Colorado 2006 and shortly afterwords we found out about Robbie's illness. Thanks for condolences to my Father. He was my best friend back when we were on Starcade and still was when he passed away in Dec. 2007. He was a great father and friend!"
