John Burke's show
  • John Burke
    SHOW #18
    taped: 3/12/1983
John, J.T. to his family, was 11 and in the 6th grade when he appeared on Starcade! Show #18.  John's opponent was Amy Esken, a cute little girl, who John beat by just over 1,700 points. Winning the competition, John played BurgerTime for the Grand Prize, a Wacko video arcade game - and won!

John's was a 'Tenderfoot' Boy Scout, was into stamp collecting and liked to play Dungeons & Dragons. ... His ambition: "Doctor (M.D.) or a Phychiatrist (maybe)."

John tells us, he "graduated from the University of California Davis, tried to make a living racing my bicycle (road racing) and now work for some money managers. ... I've never actually seen my show ... I remember my winnings seemed huge. A real video game, cordless phone and 7 or 8 Atari cartridges. A friend and I were laughing about it and he said, 'I bet there's a website about Starcade' ... It's amazing that I was only two clicks away."
